The Fallen: As Above, So Below
James A. Cusumano's first novel—actually a novella, a kind of “short read for short flights”
In The Fallen Jim has drawn on his experience in science, technology, business and Eastern philosophy. He co-founded several Silicon Valley technology ventures, one which grew to a billion-dollar public company. In this novella, Jim reminds us that most of us can go through an entire lifetime believing there’s a logical explanation for everything that happens. Generally, that’s a reasonable assumption. But, every now and then, we encounter an experience that defies our very notion of logic. Sometimes it can be deeply disturbing; and on occasion, even deadly. However, in the right context, such an experience can have an enlightening outcome. In The Fallen such was the case for protagonist Michael Pierce, an intelligent, well-grounded and successful entrepreneur. For just a few seconds, he inadvertently stepped into an alternate dimension of space and time, into the “Twilight Zone”— and it changed his life forever. Jim‘s intent in his novellas is to stimulate the reader to consider new possibilities above and beyond so-called well-proven, logical concepts.
